Welcome to Hermiston....

Hi Guys :

I thought I'd share a few photos of where I live (if you leave now, you'll miss the commercial!) :-}

Enjoy:

Another shot in my "Bird on the Left" Series

One of my favorites - "Traffic Jam at Wal-Mart"

And my favorite: "EVAC ROUTE"

Hermiston is in near proximity to the Umatilla Army Chemical Weapons Depot, where they have been destroying chemical weapons for over a decade. We live in what they call "The Kill Zone" (cool). This sign indicates the route to take in the event of an accident at the plant that releases nerve gas, etc., for those of us who are silly enough to think we can escape :-}

(I am not a member of the welcoming commitee or the Chamber of Commerce) We will be moving soon - I hope the death threats stop:-}

Oh, BTW - right across the Columbia River is "The Hanford Nuclear Waste Site" that they have been trying to clean up for more than a decade. I may not be the sharpest crayon in the box, but I'm thinkin' a move just might be a wise choice :-}

Have a Great Day.

Seeya,

OregonArtGuy

Oh...........that's the cause.......nice pics, are y'all the watermelon capital or something like that? I grew up in the watercress capital of the world, apparently many, many years ago it was a thriving business. Don't know what that has to do with your site but hey, it's some trivial info anyway.

Hmm given this history you just told us I am not sure I would want to eat any Watermellons coming from there. :)) Cool silo or grainery, or what ever it is.

Unplugged - Thanks for dropping by :-} I think we are the "Most likely to die from a chemical or nuclear accident" capitol of the world :-}

Are you having trouble with your sidebar - mine's not working?

Hi Cris - NOBODY drinks the water here! Interesting place to be from - we can't wait :-}

I noticed yours was cantankerous (sp?) Mine is fine. Have you tried WD40 on it? I noticed the 'followers' are different today. The term "followers" is a bit creepy, much better than stalkers mind you...how about "fans". They didn't ask me though.....all the problems I could solve if only I were asked....

Unplugged - Thanks for getting back to me - it seems to be OK now, and the followers thing is different. I think the you know who was probably mad about giving away their secrets :-}

Love the shot "Traffic Jam"

So I take it that you are a bottle water guy?

Hi Laura: Thanks for dropping by - I had to take a pic of the shopping cart traffic jam because it was in a peaceful remote area away from the "REAL WALMART TRAFFIC JAM" that I'v'e come to know and love :-} - NOT! Yes, since I drink a lot of coffee, I buy water buy the gallon, and since my wife and I both drink a lot of water, we also buy it in the handy 24 pack of smaller bottles - we hope our move will allow us to be "tap water" people again :-}
