Finally More MONET!

I finally completed the first part of uploading and cataloging of Monet giclee prints. I still have about 4 times as many Monet paintings to catalog, so if you visit our website and your favorite Monet picture is not there, please email me, we probably have it. Monet has many, many famous Impressionist paintings that most people will recognize, but one of my favorites that some folks might not know about is "La Grenouillere". Take a look at this painting on our website and notice how effectively he turned the flat surface of a canvas into rippling reflections of water - quite impressive. I'm going to stop with Monet for now, and get busy getting more Renoir and van Gogh online.

"I'm Sorry Dave"

Does anyone remember "2001, A Space Odyssey"? I'm sure if you're old enough you do. The onboard computer named "HAL" decided that the human occupants of the spacecraft were not doing things properly, so he took over, and would no longer listen to their commands. He was a pretty nasty fellow, and didn't mind doing whatever it took to thwart the humans efforts to gain control of the ship. But he was very polite about it - he always said "I'm Sorry Dave" after he did something bad to one of the humans. This picture from NASA reminded me of that - being left adrift in outer space. But its not as bad as it looks -

The suit is actually the world's latest satellite and was launched on Feb. 3, 2006. Dubbed SuitSat-1, the unneeded Russian Orlan spacesuit filled mostly with old clothes was fitted with a radio transmitter and released to orbit the Earth. (Enquiring minds want to know-Where do you find "OLD CLOTHES" in outer space??) If you would like to see a larger picture click here . I'm still working on Monet, but I'm getting closer.

BOB The Dog

I'm sure that most self employed people will agree that the term weekend gets a little fuzzy, since you don't really stop working (at least I don't seem to be able to - maybe its just me?). At any rate as I was enjoying my weekend (Still working on Monet pages for our website), I ran across this delightful painting by Edouard Manet entitled: "Head of a Dog, Bob". Is it cute or what?!? If you would like to see a larger image and get more info, click here . Have a nice week, and please let me know what you think of "BOB".

Beautiful Giclee Print "OCTOBER"

Yesterday I had the opportunity to print a beautiful giclee print on matte canvas of the painting "OCTOBER" by James Tissot. It is a wonderful example of Tissot's work hightlighting of period fashion with scenic backgrounds. It is one of our favorites - We look forward to hearing from the nice lady in Minnesota who ordered it. To view this and more of Tissot's work, visit: Impressionism Art Of James Tissot or see the slide show below.
