"You Might Be An OLD DUFFER If:"

You Might Be An "OLD DUFFER" if:

* You remember roller skates with metal wheels that you had to clamp onto your shoes with a "Skate Key"
*You remember your favorite AM radio station and disc jockey
*You think of "Sing Along with Mitch" instead of beer when someone says "Miller"
*You remember the name of the jeep on "The Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Show"
*You remember "The Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Show"
*You remember Roy Rogers and Dale Evans
*You remember who sang "Honolulu Lulu"
*You know the rest of the lyrics to: "Mares eat oats and does eat oats and little lambs eat ivy"
*You remember "Bazooka Joe" Bubble Gum
*You know what the phrase: "follow the bouncing ball" refers to

That's 10 - enough for today, but there will be a lot more. leave a comment and let me know if you know any or all of these things - I'd like to know how many of us there are :-}
NO CHEATING - you can find anything online, but if you don't know - don't look it up. I'll be on the lookout with my trusty Rin Tin Tin looking for "Old Duffer" wanabes!
till tomorrow - "I'll Be Workin' On It"

I only remember that roller skates, I had a similar pair.

I mainly learn American history of 50s from William Manchester's The Glory and the Dream.

And I know South California from the song "it's never rain in South California". :D

Thank for posting an interesting blog, I enjoyed reading it.

I was born in 1949 and remember two of the items on the list.

But I also remember listening to the Lone Ranger on the radio while living in the California desert. I also remember seeing the first Sputnik in space in 1957 while living in the San Bernardino foothills.

Listening to the Lone Ranger helped develop my love of history, and I learned the importance of always trying to do what is right. From standing outside on a clear night with all our neighbors, and seeing other groups of neighbors outside up and down the street, and seeing Sputnik move slowly across the stars, I learned that the future can change in an instant — especially by a small light in the darkness.

Hi John:
Thanks for your comment - It sounds as if we may have grown up in the same general area - I grew up in Pomona. Where were you? By the way, what two things did you remember?

LOL yeah I know those skates. In fact there still may be a pair in my attic. I love the video of the computer desk. Really funny blog. Thanks for the memories.

Thanks Cora:
If you ever run short on money, you might want to find those skates - there probably worth plenty more than they were new :-}
